As Cass was walking outside her eyes fell on the forest. She hadn't been into a forest since she lived with her mother. Curiosity getting to her, she began to wander towards the forest. When she first arrived she was told it was forbidden, but that just made people want to go into it even more. She was one of those people.

Walking along she began to sing softly:
It takes a lot
To get to the top
And a little just to fall from it

So fast it makes you sick
You won the battle and lost the war

She remembered hearing it when she lived with her mother, talking to a friend that had moved to Canada. She missed that friend, but hey, that was in the past, and she didn't much care for that anymore. Too much had happened that made her hate her past.

She continued singing:

We rocked and we tumbled

"We rocked and we tumbled" The line repeated in her head. She had tumbled, more than she could have ever imagined. Looking around all she saw was trees. How long had she been walking? She shook her head and sat down, leaning against the trunk of a tree. Cass sighed, why her? Why couldn't her parents have loved each other like they said in their vows? Why did she have to be this way? Another song popped into her head, but she dared not sing it for fear she'd be put somewhere else.
